INTRODUCTION – EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK + FORESTRY (EFAW+F)
Minimum of 7-8 contact hours (plus breaks)
The EFAW+F course covers all the core EFAW modules and additional forestry modules as specified by The Forestry Commission.
The extra forestry subjects covered include; treatment of catastrophic bleeding (including use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings), crush injuries, hypothermia, heat stroke, anaphylaxis and Lyme Disease.
The course is delivered, evaluated and quality assured to meet the new guidelines set out by the HSE and meets all the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981. Upon successful completion, students are awarded a certificate in Emergency First Aid at Work + Forestry (EFAW+F) which is accredited by The FAIB (First Aid Industry Body). Certificates are valid for 3 years.
The course takes approximately 7-8 hours to complete (plus any additional breaks).
