INTRODUCTION – EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK + FORESTRY (EFAW+F)

Minimum of 7-8 contact hours (plus breaks) 

The EFAW+F course covers all the core EFAW modules and additional forestry modules as specified by The Forestry Commission. 

The extra forestry subjects covered include; treatment of catastrophic bleeding (including use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings), crush injuries, hypothermia, heat stroke, anaphylaxis and Lyme Disease.

The course is delivered, evaluated and quality assured to meet the new guidelines set out by the HSE and meets all the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981. Upon successful completion, students are awarded a certificate in Emergency First Aid at Work + Forestry (EFAW+F) which is accredited by The FAIB (First Aid Industry Body). Certificates are valid for 3 years. 

The course takes approximately 7-8 hours to complete (plus any additional breaks).

Choking | Serious Bleeding Management | Treatment of Minor Injuries | Types of Shock & Management of Shock | Burns and Scalds | Seizures and Epilepsy

Additional Forestry Modules:

Certification is valid for 3 years

It is strongly recommended by HSE that trained staff attend an annual refresher, the duration is three hours and gives the opportunity for the firs aider to update their skills by practical and theoretical means.

 £85 per person + £2.95pp for a student kit

 

 

Please add £2.95pp for a Covid-19 kit – which includes a CPR face shield, gloves, a wound dressing, a triangular bandage

Additional Information

All delegates will receive a handout and/or manual to follow. Upon successful completion they will gain a certificate approved by The First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) & FOFATO which is for 3 years.

 

Alternatively, certification can be gained via an Ofqual Awarding Organisation (QNUK or TQUK). If you prefer this option, then please add £8pp for the additional certification costs and administration. Please note that we also need a minimum of 7 days’ notice to register and/or cancel these courses. 

 

Additional mileage costs may be charged for venues further than 20 miles from BH21 6RR. Each additional mile is charged at 40pence per mile. 

 

For private group bookings it is assumed that the customer will supply the venue unless otherwise agreed.
